NATIONAL WORKERS’ COMPENSATION AND DISABILITY CONFERENCE & EXPO
The ATSC Insurance Division exhibited at the National Workers’ Compensation and Disability Conference & Expo, the nation’s leading event for workers’ compensation and disability management professionals, in Las Vegas, November 9-10, 2011. Covering topics from undocumented workers and psychosocial issues to changes in medical delivery, the 2011 conference program highlighted the century-long history of workers' compensation and looked ahead at the trends, issues and technologies that will drive workers' compensation and disability management endeavors in the years ahead. The ATSC Insurance Division showcased their expertise specializing in business process reengineering, vendor selection, software testing, data conversion and project management services for property and casualty, workers’ compensation and life insurers. From the ATSC Technology Services division, Ken France, Eyal Abukasis, and Kim Werner exhibited at the premier annual Agile software development conference Agile 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah, August 7-13. With attendance of over 1,500, this year’s conference marked the historic 10th anniversary of the Agile Manifesto that served as a significant milestone in the progress of software development worldwide. As a Silver Sponsor for this year’s event, ATSC showcased our strength in agile deployments with several new successful engagements since last year’s show.

he ATSC – MBA Consulting Services, Inc. (ATSC-MBA CSI) team showcased cyber security recruiting initiatives directed by the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) under the Army Human Resources Solutions Recruitment and Retention (R&R) Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract at the FOSE 2011 Cybersecurity Technology Marketplace exhibition. Beckoned by giant chess pieces and the message “Your move…,” booth visitors were welcomed by ATSC – MBA CSI team members ready to discuss INSCOM’s progressive cyber security recruiting initiative, Cyber Brigade. Participants were also treated to a video outlining INSCOM’s Cyber Brigade recruiting efforts spearheaded by the ATSC – MBA CSI team.

MIT Information Quality Industry Symposium
ATSC Senior Business Systems Analyst, Mark Amspoker, presented a tutorial on “Application of the Federal Data Quality Framework and the Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) Reference Models” on July 13 at the MIT Information Quality Industry Symposium in Boston, Massachusetts. The tutorial acquainted business leaders with proven strategies for integrating information quality (IQ) into their existing architecture and engineering programs.
Under the auspices of the CIO Council’s Data Architecture Subcommittee, Mr. Amspoker was the principal author of The Federal Data Quality Framework. The Framework, designed to provide guidance for consistent understanding and practices of data quality across government agencies, has become a widely recognized best practices document among IQ practitioners in the Federal government. As part of the tutorial, Mr. Amspoker provided an overview of the Framework and how it is being used by agencies.

IASA (Insurance Accounting and Systems Association) Educational Conference and Business Show
The ATSC insurance division team’s presence at the annual IASA (Insurance Accounting and Systems Association) Educational Conference and Business Show held June 5-8 in Nashville, Tennessee included both an exhibition and speaking opportunities. ATSC team members selected to speak in four distinct educational sessions included Insurance Division Vice President Janeen Blanton, IT Consulting Division Vice President Ken France, Director Kyle Bonestell and Sales Consultant Rex Bagwell, and their presentations covered the following topics: management development for technical staff, project management for distributed project teams, differences between Agile and waterfall methodologies, and conflict management. ATSC insurance division has received numerous speaking invitations from local IASA chapters in South Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Texas, Michigan and other states. Innovate 2011 – The IBM Rational Software Conference
The ATSC Technology Services division exhibited at Innovate 2011 – The IBM Rational Software Conference in Orlando, Florida, June 3-7, 2011. In addition to the exhibition, ATSC team members delivered four distinct technical presentations that highlight how the adoption of agile practices in developing smarter software and systems minimizes time-to-market and cost, and increases productivity. These presentations were so well received that the team has been asked to present them again at additional upcoming IBM speaking engagements. The abstracts submitted by ATSC senior consultants Eyal Abukasis and Pratik Bengali (joint submission), Kanishka Badhwar, Bobby Walters and Kim Werner’s abstracts were selected for presentation at this year’s conference from among thousands submitted. ATSC will participate in Innovate 2010 – The IBM Rational Software Conference, an event at which participants learn about the latest technologies to design and build smarter software products . In addition to our company’s exhibition focused on agile development practices with the theme “Agility Delivered to the REAL World,” ATSC staff will deliver two distinct technical presentations as well as participate on a panel of experts on agile software development practices. ATSC senior consultants Eyal Abukasis and Kim Werner’s abstracts were selected from among over a thousand submissions for presentation this year, and Kim Werner was also asked to speak on the agile panel of experts. ATSC Agile Community of Practice Lead Nate Oster is speaking at EclipseWorld this year with a hands-on session for the Eclipse Process Framework’s Composer tool. Attendees will learn how they can leverage this open source project to create reusable Software Development Lifecycle assets for their organizations, or build on high-quality foundations like the OpenUP and Scrum libraries.
ATSC supported the Eclipse EPF (Eclipse Process Framework) project from its founding, adding Nate as an Eclipse Committer in 2007, and recently adding Office of Technology Director Ken Clyne as a committer and content lead for the Scrum library. Nate currently serves as the Agile Testing content owner for OpenUP, a lean unified process for agile teams.

ATSC has been selected to present six education sessions for numerous tracks at the IBM Rational Software Development Conference (RSDC), June 1-5, 2008, in Orlando, Florida. In addition, ATSC will host a booth showcasing our company’s highly regarded Rational expertise.
RSDC – one of the largest conferences hosted by a commercial software vendor for its customers – features hands-on technology workshops and seminars that enhance participants’ IBM Rational skills and capabilities. These valuable education sessions are conducted by experts from Rational staff as well as from Rational users and business partners.
No other IBM Business Partner even comes close to the number of presentations awarded to our company, and no other organization (other than IBM itself) will be making as large of a contribution to the content of this year's RSDC.
